ABOUT
Nils Leonard, who will now appear live from London, has spent over 25 years in the advertising and design industry, leading some of London’s most recognised agencies. As Chairman of Grey LDN, he oversaw its most awarded and profitable years, becoming one of the world’s youngest agency chairmen and guiding global brand work.
Named the No.1 creative in advertising globally by Business Insider and featured in Adweek’s Creativity 100, Nils also sits on the advisory group of the Royal Academy and is listed among The Sunday Times’ 500 most influential people in the UK.
He is the founder of Uncommon Creative Studio — the fastest-growing startup in advertising history — built to create brands people genuinely wish existed. Seven years on, Uncommon continues to deliver standout, awarded work across a range of local and global brands.
Highlights include launching the UK’s most recognised mental health initiative with ITV; creating H&M’s globally famous One Second Suit to help young men find work; redefining Nike Jordan’s identity through the lens of an aspiring female baller at the 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend; and designing the new brand identity and vision for EA Sports FC, the world’s biggest game.
Uncommon also produced its first feature documentary, This Much I Know To Be True, directed by Andrew Dominik and featuring Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. Nils served as Executive Producer. The film premiered at Berlinale and SXSW, earning widespread acclaim including The Guardian’s Film of the Week and a spot in NME’s top films of the year.
Following two consecutive wins as Campaign’s Creative Agency of the Year, Uncommon was named Ad Age’s International AOTY, Creative Circle’s AOTY for the fourth year running, and is the only UK studio in Fast Company’s Top 10 global advertising companies.
